Triumphs Over Stigmas

Every expression, is a reflection of one’s feelings, one's struggles, one’s chains.

UNCHAINED

Kaye Morales enters a new phase in her art, where she draws from the stories of others and links them with her own to create a collection that transcends stereotypes and captures the dynamic between struggle and victory against personal traumas. This collection tells of empowerment against the forces that pull us from reaching our true potential. Each piece is a testament to triumphs over stigmas. Each design is a story of overcoming.

This is about breaking the chains that bind us to our suffering. This is Unchained.

Here we acknowledge the chains, we try to understand them, we explore the links, their texture, color, and composition; and we feel their weight, the cold sensation, and the scars they leave behind. We learn and then we accept them, we accept that we’ve defined ourselves by these chains. In this acceptance, comes an understanding of self, then maybe forgiveness, or perhaps the creation of space– a space to create.

In creation there is expression. Every expression, is a reflection of one’s feelings, one's struggles, one’s chains. Here Kaye attempts to reflect on your pain, and she knows about yours because she carries one too many herself. We reflect on each other’s pains. And through this expressed knowing, seeing, and validation is the start of our liberation. And then finally empowerment.

See and be seen, come take a look, these designs are not merely about the chains, nor the badge, but the very dynamic of breaking them distilled in emotions expressed through fashion. Even if it’s true that defining yourself with your chains has its own aesthetic value, here now, through these designs, Kaye creates an invitation, if not permission, or perhaps a trigger of inspiration to let a new you emerge– a person that’s unchained.
